Ten years of collaboration, thousands of beneficiaries and one shared purpose: building a more inclusive, equitable and sustainable society.
At Bergner, we believe that strong, long-term partnerships are one of the most effective ways to generate meaningful social impact. This year, we are proud to celebrate ten years of collaboration with Cooperación Internacional, marking a decade of joint efforts dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable individuals through education, social inclusion, training and corporate volunteering.
What began as a shared commitment to social action has evolved into a strategic partnership that has delivered impactful projects across Spain, Morocco and India, creating opportunities for children, young people, women and families facing significant social and economic challenges.
Ten Years of Creating Opportunities
Over the past decade, Bergner and Cooperación Internacional have developed a wide range of initiatives aimed at promoting equal opportunities and supporting the personal development of vulnerable communities.
One of the most significant programmes has been the Social Leadership Programme in Zaragoza, which works with children and young people from immigrant backgrounds who are at risk of social exclusion. Through an integrated approach based on education, sport and volunteering, the programme helps participants develop their talents, strengthen their self-confidence and build a future founded on responsibility, resilience and active citizenship.
Bergner’s commitment has also extended beyond Spain. In Tangier, the partnership has supported inclusion programmes for young people with disabilities through sport and innovative initiatives such as the Inclusive Social Kitchen, a vocational training project that provides culinary education and practical work experience. Thanks to this programme, several participants have secured placements with leading hotels in the city, taking important steps towards greater independence and social inclusion.
In Mumbai, the partnership has contributed to tackling some of the most severe forms of social exclusion. Through the Youth Leadership Programme, children and young people living in conditions of extreme poverty receive educational support, values-based training, sporting opportunities and personal development guidance, empowering them to realise their full potential.
In addition, the Water For All project has enabled families living in highly vulnerable communities to gain access to safe drinking water, significantly improving health, hygiene and overall quality of life.
A Second Chance to Rebuild Lives
Among the many initiatives developed throughout this partnership, one of the most transformative has been Second Chance, a programme supporting women and young people living in situations of extreme vulnerability in Mumbai.
The project provides vocational training, basic education and personal support to women from backgrounds of exploitation and social exclusion, helping them access employment opportunities and rebuild their lives with dignity and independence.
Beyond the numbers, Second Chance demonstrates the power of education, support and opportunity to create lasting change, offering hope and a pathway towards a brighter future for women who have faced extraordinary challenges.
The Value of Corporate Volunteering
Throughout these ten years, the commitment of Bergner employees has been at the heart of this partnership.
Through a variety of corporate volunteering initiatives, employees have contributed their time, skills and enthusiasm to educational, sporting and social programmes, as well as participating in international volunteering experiences linked to projects supported by Cooperación Internacional.
Their involvement has strengthened Bergner’s culture of responsibility, solidarity and engagement, creating positive outcomes not only for beneficiary communities but also for the people who make up our organisation.
Looking Ahead
The experience of the last decade has confirmed that the most meaningful and sustainable impact is achieved through long-term commitment, mutual trust and a shared vision for social development.
Together, Bergner and Cooperación Internacional have demonstrated that collaboration between the private sector and civil society can be a powerful force for change, creating genuine opportunities for those who need them most.
Behind every activity, every programme and every initiative delivered over these ten years are stories of resilience, inclusion and personal growth that reflect the true value of this partnership.
Ten years on, we remain united by the same purpose: transforming solidarity into real opportunities and helping to build a better future for all.
